Toy Davis

Toy Davis, 86, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Clyde, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Savannah. He worked at the Ford Plantation, Southeastern Shipyards, and served as a Seaman 1st Class in the Navy during World War II. He was a logger retiring in 1985 and was a member of the Landrum Lodge #48. He was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He loved his family, his church and his garden and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rad D. Davis, his mother, Nina Proman Davis, brothers, Redge Davis, Ralph Davis, Wallace Shuman, Alvis Shuman George Shuman, Lewis Shuman, and Ellis Shuman, sisters, Etta Strickland, Myrtice Wilbanks, Avie Rushing, and Violet Davis.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn H. Davis, sons, Earl K. Davis and his wife, Judy, and R. C. Davis and his wife, Darla. Grandchildren Shari Davis, Michelle and husband J.C. Burns, Brandy and husband Jeff Brown, Jason Crider, Brian Crider and wife Michelle, Lee Crider and wife Heather. Eleven great-grandchildren, Ben Messick, Alli Brightwell, Cassidy and Madison Brown, Austin, Hayden, Makenna, Landon, and Ryland Crider and Matty and Clint Crider. Brothers, Lee Davis, Richard Davis, Randy Davis, Boyce Davis, sister, Lilly Sheppard, and step-mother, Madeline Davis.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Silk Hope Baptist Church with Dr. Donnie Brannen officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
